Nursing students work in one of Carroll University's state-of-the-art simulation labs.
Carroll University is proud to announce that its Nursing program has received the designation of “Endorsed” by the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation & Learning (INACSL). This recognition acknowledges the program’s excellence in meeting the Core Four Standards of Prebriefing, Debriefing, Facilitation and Professional Integrity within its simulation labs. Carroll University now joins an elite group of only 41 programs nationwide to receive this distinction.
“We are honored to receive this endorsement, which highlights the outstanding work of our faculty, staff and students in advancing healthcare education through innovative simulation practices,” said Carroll President Cindy Gnadinger. “This achievement underscores Carroll University’s commitment to preparing future healthcare professionals with the highest standards of learning and professional integrity.”
Carroll’s Nursing program utilizes seven total simulation labs with adjoining control rooms and observation areas to create lifelike scenarios and learning opportunities in real time. The labs are equipped with state-of-the-art medical manikins, equipment, hospital beds, examination tables and even a birthing suite.
“It’s crucial for our nursing students to experience situations and environments that are as close to the real world as possible,” said Teri Kaul, Chair of Carroll’s Nursing Department. “The simulation labs really mimic actual hospital settings and marvelously prepare our students to be excellent nurses from day one in the field.”
The endorsement is valid for three years, through 2028, after which the program may reapply for continued recognition. This milestone celebrates the dedication and expertise of the Nursing department to enhance student learning and patient care outcomes. In recognition of this achievement, Carroll University has been invited to attend the INACSL24 conference in Denver, Colorado, from June 19-22, 2025, where an awards presentation will take place.
